Sara Ayers creates unflinchingly intimate soundscapes using her voice: sampled, layered, looped and pitch-shifted. Combined with occasional guitar washes and a warm bedrock of molten noise, she creates richly textured sonic atmospheres that vary in tone from the haunting whispers of angels to wall-of-sound banshee wails: a soundtrack for forgotten dreams. Tim Livingston/The Last Conspirators WARPARTY the new album by former Morons/Ghostrunner frontman and songwriter Tim Livingston, and his band of rebel-rockers THE LAST CONSPIRATORS, soon to be released on Driving Rain Music. WARPARTY is a politically charged set of rock & roll "protest" songs, played with the urgency of Livingstons early punk group, the Morons and the power & passion of his later cult incarnation Ghostrunner. An old school rock & roll outlaw, Livingston has been reclusive from the Capital Region live scene since his days with the Morons ('79-'82) and his short stint as Ghostrunner ('93) but is now poised to return to the stage with the impending release of the album. Michael Eck Many moons ago Michael Eck took his first bow in a rat's-ass punk rock band called The Plague; blasting out the news of the day like the Almanac Singers on crack. He hasn't shut up since; even if he has toned things down to Woody Guthrie wired on black coffee."I actually have a bust of Woody on my desk," Eck says, "just to keep me honest." He calls his thing "maximum solo acoustic" and it's maximum in every way, from his hulking frame and primal-folk bashing to his quiet country-tinged ballads. It's roots-rock that traces the bloodline from Blind Lemon Jefferson to Hank Williams, and from Tim Hardin to Tom Waits. Michael is currently experiencing some fine success and popularity also an artist with various pieces of his work in a number of galleries.  Peter Hanson - Filmmaker Grand River Films Peter is a talented screenwriter/filmmaker now living in California. I met Peter and his (now) wife through my wife about ten years ago. They have been good friends to us and have given some great support, perspective and kind words when we needed them most. It was also pretty neat to find out that we'd both been transplanted to the same highschool having graduation classes exactly ten years apart. I had the honor of providing the soundtrak music to his indie gem You Oughta Be In Pixals which is about the digital revolution in indie filmmaking. Garage and folk are his modifiers. His life's subject is always rocknroll - rocknroll that is open, honest and unadorned. "I've been describing my music as garage.folk.rocknroll for several years. I enjoy the raw power and passion of music created by the garage rock bands of the 1960's and the story telling aspect of the folk music. And I arrange and present my songs as rocknroll songs.
